About Me
I’m Charlee Hines, a fifth-generation farmer and horticulture student at Auburn University focusing on fruit and vegetable production. Agriculture has been part of my life since childhood, and my experiences working on my family’s farm shaped my commitment to growing high-quality crops and stewarding the land well.
MY AGRICULTURAL ROOTS
I grew up working on my family’s watermelon fields and cattle operations, gaining hands-on experience across both crop and livestock management. In watermelon production, I assisted with transplanting, laying plastic, irrigation checks, pest and disease scouting, and harvest logistics. On the cattle side, I worked cattle through horseback gathering, vaccinations, sorting, mineral distribution, record-keeping, weighing cattle, and preparing load sheets for shipping. These experiences taught me responsibility, problem-solving, and the importance of maintaining healthy, productive agricultural systems.

What I'm Studying
At Auburn, I’m specializing in fruit and vegetable production within the horticulture program. My coursework and lab experience allow me to deepen my understanding of plant growth, crop systems, soil science, and sustainable production methods that support long-term agricultural success.
